And silly thing is what I like about it is it's similar to a decaying vintage blouse I already own. Obvious solution, just copy that, why would I assume a commercial pattern is a better starting point? Doesn't make sense but I would have five years ago, I think I do know better now, but thanks for the reminder.Jne4slhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02709409881841287562noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6813031881624424068.post-616004612881123912016-09-26T15:24:27.981-07:002016-09-26T15:24:27.981-07:00I've heard Burda 03/2016 #125 has similar styl...I've heard Burda 03/2016 #125 has similar style lines to Rue but with better drafting. I've been eyeing the latest colette release, the rue, but know based on previous experience that their block doesn't work on me (or, it seems, many of the ladies they had "testing" the pattern), and I've been thinking I'll just hack the design from something I know fits me, much like you suggest hacking the sencha from a boxy blouse. allie J.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07709738770290813570noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6813031881624424068.post-84993609178847557242016-09-25T07:59:20.394-07:002016-09-25T07:59:20.394-07:00You definitely did a great job with this pattern- ...You definitely did a great job with this pattern- and I love the colour on you. I know myself I don't deal with too many patterns (since I mostly make lingerie and swimwear and it's all self drafted). But it can be tricky working with patterns and finding companies that have a good match to your body type.EmeraldErinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07726079189846366003noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6813031881624424068.post-67047033912109468912016-09-24T13:06:42.793-07:002016-09-24T13:06:42.793-07:00Well done Meg on fixing what appears to be very po...Well done Meg on fixing what appears to be very poorly drafted pattern - it is definitely not you! Unfortunately with sewing patterns we can't ask for our money back when the product is faulty, like we can with most other products. Beginners need to be very 'buyer beware' and do their research, or they will continue to get ripped off.Sheryllhttp://patternscissorscloth.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6813031881624424068.post-4182275042708282612016-09-23T16:55:21.866-07:002016-09-23T16:55:21.866-07:00THAT I would love to see!THAT I would love to see!Meghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01455909792052564401noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6813031881624424068.post-3752052334584825682016-09-23T16:51:49.340-07:002016-09-23T16:51:49.340-07:00True! I just wrote a post about fit problems in indie patterns and Colette featured heavily - I had such trouble with their Clover pants.

That being said, you did make a lovely blouse! Though I agree with your assessment that it might have been less work starting from scratch or drafting onto another pattern.Siobhan (Chronically Siobhan)https://www.blogger.com/profile/08205646156083423676noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6813031881624424068.post-41189369709972644252016-09-22T12:36:29.341-07:002016-09-22T12:36:29.341-07:00Such a gorgeous end result and thank you for shari...Such a gorgeous end result and thank you for sharing your process for getting there!Hélènehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17365857261738468646noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6813031881624424068.post-78359178939398674222016-09-22T12:28:13.284-07:002016-09-22T12:28:13.284-07:00Your blouse came out cute, despite the pattern iss...Your blouse came out cute, despite the pattern issues! I've never had luck with Colette patterns, so tbh I don't give them much time of day anymore. Their drafting is definitely questionable and their designs have been pretty meh lately. It's too bad, because they used to really have distinctive designs. lisa g.https://www.blogger.com/profile/09891757600316953288noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6813031881624424068.post-7715488887123647242016-09-22T11:25:54.371-07:002016-09-22T11:25:54.371-07:00LOL, Beth, if you say it then the discussion is se...LOL, Beth, if you say it then the discussion is settled. I have tried a couple and definitely had some problems, but I always need to alter patterns so wasn't sure how much was me and how much of the problem was the pattern.
