Pattern: Grainline's Scout Woven Tee
Fabric: 1 yd chambray
OMG guys! I can totally see why everyone and their mom has made Grainline's Scout Tee! Where was this pattern when I was trying to make this, this, and this (which all have since been done away with)?!
This is the second project I've made from the sewing swap with Sally of the Quirky Peach (the first can be found here), and I am so glad we decided to have a Scout-themed swap! (You can see her versions here). The shirt fits great, is super comfortable, and is surprisingly quite flattering for a boxy tee.
On this version, I lengthened it to fit my long torso, and added a little pocket for detail. I can already envision so many more modifications for this, from peter pan collars to gathering and buttons!
On this version, I also tested out a technique for a folded cuff, which I may make a tutorial for later. This shirt was a test-run for one I'll be making for my friend for her birthday. She wanted a tee from a novelty print, and you'll see when I finish how amazingly silly it is.
Like I said, I am thrilled with this pattern and, embarrassingly, I already have at least a handful of other fabrics to make some more. I think this could be one of those shirts that works great for the weekend and the office, and would go great with some of my Clover pants!
