Valentine's Day Lace

Pattern: Pin-Up Girls' Classic Full-Band Bra #1200 and Ohhh Lulu's Grace Panties
Fabric: stretch lace and ponte knit
Cost: $10

Hello lovelies! While I am one of those girls who typically shuns the hype of Valentine's Day, I can't resist a good opportunity to make up some pretty lingerie. So whether you're going out with the girls this Friday night, taking a special someone to dinner, or staying in with a bowl of ice cream, Valentine's Day is as good a day as any to wear something sexy. Amirite?

The first piece is my tried-n-true, highly-modified Pin-Up Girls' Classic Full-Band Bra #1200 (wow, that's a mouthful!). While I still want to try a different pattern, it's so much fun to make up different variations of this one, without all the fitting issues.

For stability, the band is fully lined with matching ponte. I also cut the cup seam of the top cup piece along the selvadge, which made it more stable and easier to sew. The weight of the cup is supported by the elastic, so hopefully it's not as delicate as it looks.

The matching undies were a first time for me using Ohhh Lulu's Grace Panties. It was so cool to oogle all her amazing creations on Etsy, and then have the chance to make some up myself! It's what you always dream about when you see cool handmade sellers online. The pattern was simple and straightforward, and it was a rather relaxing experience to put them together.

Like the bra, the leg openings of the underwaer was done in elastic (rather than the recommended hem) to stabilize the lace.

Here's a close up of the two fabrics together.

Happy V-Day!
