I just got back from the BurdaStyle book launch party in San Francisco tonight, and it was AMAZING! It was like seeing all my favorite sewing bloggers come to life in a room filled with crafts, grilled cheese sandwiches, and wood engraving machines (check at the Tech Shop's cool space). I got to know Amy from Sew Well and Laura from Lilacs & Lace (pictured above), chatted with the lovely Mena from Sew Weekly, and met the crew from ModCloth (based in SF!) and BurdaStyle.
Clearly I am geeking out about this, but it's sorta a dream come true for a girl who has, up 'til now, had an entirely internet-based relationship with the sewing community. I am now more determined than ever to get to know more of the local scene. Anyone up for the Alameda Flea Market or a trip to Scrap?
You can check out more pictures from the BurdaStyle book launch here.

Wow! You guys are quick posters! I've only had time to sleep since the end of the party! It was great to meet you last night, and I'm definitely up for the Alameda Fair and a trip to Scrap. January?
ReplyDeleteSounds awesome!!! what a great party! I am totally up for January!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree - it was wonderful to actually meet people and have a real conversation with sewing bloggers who share similar interests.
ReplyDeleteAnd January sounds fabulous. Let's do it!
I don't know if I'm going to be properly recovered first thing in the morning on January first to go to the Alameda Flea Market, but I'm down for a trip to Scrap in January and the market in early February!
