To start off, Qui and Erin organized a little meet-up at the Actual Cafe through our Bay Area Sewists Meet-Up. We were joined by (in order of appearance) Danna, Jilly Be, Wendy, Donna, Shannon, Ivy, Daiyami, Romy, and several more lovely ladies. A bit before the trunk show, Sarai and her husband even showed up to say hi and chat. I was thrilled to learn that she heself used to live in Oakland, and she is even more lovely in person than on her amazing blog and website.
Over at the launch party, I had an opportunity to catch up with Amy and Laura Mae (in their matching beignet skirts) who I first met at the BurdaStyle book launch party in December, meet the fabulous Tracey, and even chat with sewing instructor Terry McClintock, who has revolutionized my sewing and given me some amazing sewing tools and techniques.
Update: I also had a lovely time talking to Sarah and Michelle--thanks ladies for your comments here! It is so amazing to go into a crowd and be able to strike up a conversation and have all these things in common. Good luck Sarah on your Clover pants!
Also, a special shout out to Dixie DIY, who seems to be the first on my blog roll for finishing one of the new Colette Patterns: she had the Juniper Trousers made and posted just four days after they were announced on the Colette website!
Last night was a lot of fun and it was really nice meeting you!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed meeting you last night, and look forward to more - see you at AIF next Saturday? :)
ReplyDeleteEdited to add - this is just a head's up about the dreaded Word Verification - are you aware that your blog requires it for comments? I have a couple of posts on my blog about the difficulty this can cause, and also how to get rid of it, should you choose to do so..... :)
Meg, your gorgeous dress and friendly personality blew me away! You are such a sweet girl and I hope to hang out with you IRL again soon! Thank goodness for the meet up, I made a cool new friend, you! xo
