Striped Dress

Pattern: Deer and Doe's Plantain T-Shirt
Fabric: striped medium-weight knit
Cost: $36

While I don't wear dresses much, I've been wanting an easy striped dress that I could pull on for going out to dinner, hanging out on a warm day, or even pairing with a cardigan and cute shoes for work. You know, something versatile

So, last time I was at the fabric store I picked up some more of my favorite striped knit, which can be seen previously in two casual striped dresses (one of which is now a shirt), and a striped skirt. Instead of using my go-to McCall's Misses' Tops M6164, I decided for a looser fit with Deer and Doe's Plantain Shirt.

I'm worried now that it may be a little too loose and plain, but I dressed it up a bit for ya with a yellow cardigan, belt, and red shoes. We'll see if this one has staying power or if I need to modify it - maybe with 3/4 sleeves and a closer fit through the waist...

I do love a chance for a good pocket though!

  6. It's great! And I don't think it's too boring. For me, this would very quickly become a staple - I like the boring-est of clothes :)
